As a global enterprise, edding is not only committed to running a successful business: it is also aware of its responsibilities towards the world of tomorrow. An eco-friendly approach to business has, therefore, always been part of the company's philosophy.  

edding's green initiatives do not simply involve the production and development of eco-friendly products, but also encompass the manufacture of promotional aids, such as brochures and catalogues. By and large, when producing our brochures we mainly use paper from sustainable forests.

Recently, we have started coating many of our catalogues with a new dispersion varnish based on renewable resources. This water-based varnish is used as a finish for paper surfaces. It is a pioneering solution because the varnish is based on naturally occurring resins and waxes. And because the raw materials are not based on crude oil, it's a move that avoids the use of scarce fossil resources. The use of renewable resources is comparatively CO2-neutral, making it a sustainable solution that is kind to the environment.

We have also joined forces with a printer who uses only eco-friendly printing inks that contain a new kind of plant-based binding agent.
